Spotted: Chace Crawford spilling the beans to Alex Cooper about co-star hookups. He shied away from the intimate details, so who do you think was calling him daddy? Xoxo, Gossip Girl.
Sorry, I had to. Crawford appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast on Wednesday to promote The Boys, but host Cooper is 29 so obviously she had to ask about Gossip Girl. Crawford was happy to oblige and even gave an only sort-of evasive answer when Cooper asked, bluntly, “Have you ever hooked up with a co-star?”
“I would say those things are inevitable,” Chase said after taking a big sip of his water. “When you’re in your 20s … the thing is you’re on these things … people probably think it’s these sexy scenes or whatever, that’s like the worst part of it, with 60 people watching. It’s the downtime. You’re doing this show, you’re on set for like 12 to 14 hours a day, and usually there’s some pretty interesting people from all walks of life.”
Crawford also noted that his pool of potential partners was not just limited to the principal cast of the show.
“There [were] a lot of actors and people coming on to the show over the years,” he said. “And I was fortunate enough to have friends in the city who were actors but were outside the show, and I had a really good friend group. And everyone else has their little friend group. So you meet people in that wider circle, it’s not just that tiny little circle. There’s a lot of people involved. But again, it was like our college experience.”
So, the Gossip Girl Extended Universe is a tangled web. But Crawford did seem to imply that he had hooked up with a co-star. I’m going to guess it wasn’t Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, or Jessica Szohr, all of whom were at one point or another in serious relationships with other cast members. Taylor Momsen was 14 when the show started, so let’s keep her out of this as well.
Perhaps it was Michelle Trachtenberg or one of Blair’s hot minions? A lot of gorgeous women had stints as Nate Archibald’s girlfriend. Maybe Tika Sumpter or Elizabeth Hurley? Lady Gaga guest starred on the show one time — was it her? There are just too many possibilities. All I know for sure is that there is a lot of money to be made by the first Gossip Girl cast member to release a really dishy memoir. Get to writing, Chase.
