Counter to the desires of most football fans, the Super Bowl is going to be a rematch for the Eagles and the Chiefs. You might recall that this matchup happened two years ago, when Travis and Jason Kelce became the first brothers to ever play against each other in a Super Bowl. Two years later, a few things are different: Jason is retired, Travis is going for a third consecutive Super Bowl win, and, of course, Taylor Swift is involved now.
At last year’s Super Bowl, Swift was coming straight from the Tokyo run of her Eras Tour. Much was made over whether or not she would make it to that game, but through the power of a private jet and whatever rich people do to beat jet lag, she arrived in Las Vegas with a bunch of her friends (Blake Lively, Ice Spice) in tow. The Chiefs won, Travis did that “Viva Las Vegas!!!!” thing, and Tayvis shared a big smooch on the field. Will the same things happen this year?
Almost certainly. Barring something catastrophic, I would put money on Swift being front and center once again on February 9 for another Chiefs win (sorry, Eagles fans). The way I see it, the actual variables here are which friends she’s going to bring and what she’s going to wear. She’s been keeping us on our toes with her outfits this season, but I’m willing to guess that knee-high boots will be involved. As for the friends, it’s always a grab bag with Swift. I’m hoping that the game’s New Orleans setting means that Lana Del Rey and her alligator-tour-guide husband will be standing alongside Swift and Donna Kelce. A girl can dream!
