Yesterday, younger Mara and her philanthropist mother, Kathleen, reared their matching dark-brown heads to speak in a panel discussion at the 2013 Social Innovation Summit. The actress slicked her hair back into a low bun and wore her go-to black uniform to discuss her nonprofit organization called Uweza Foundation, which fights poverty in Kibera, Kenya’s largest slum. Her mother wore a sleeveless navy dress and pulled on a pair of black-framed glasses during the chat. It appears that flawless porcelain skin, dark locks, and a taste for minimalism run in the Mara blood. Hopefully Kate doesn’t feel left out.
