While the Charles James exhibit, with its sweeping gowns and colorful palette, is still on display at the Anna Wintour Costume Center, a much more, well, subdued show is set to take its place soon. On October 21, “Death Becomes Her: A Century of Mourning Attire” will open in the space, showcasing Victorian and Edwardian mourning clothes. A total of 30 looks spanning the years 1815 to 1915, including Queen Victoria’s mourning clothes, will be on display until February 1. Another thing for summer goths to look forward to this fall.
