News of this year’s British Fashion Awards nominees broke last month, with J.W. Anderson and Simone Rocha among those getting the nod. Today, the British Fashion Council has announced a surprise corollary to the evening: fashion’s most famous British expat, Anna Wintour, will be presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award. Said BFC chair Natalie Massenet in a release, “Anna Wintour has helped, nurtured and advised the careers of some of the world’s most brilliant and creative designers. There isn’t a person working in fashion who has not been inspired and influenced by Anna’s leadership.” The ceremony will take place December 1 at the London Coliseum, so prepare your quiver of seasonally appropriate “Wintour Wonderland” quips.
