In a video that aired last night during The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Missouri senator Claire McCaskill finally told the men of the Senate what they’ve needed to hear for so long: Shut up already!
“It’s not that women don’t value your thoughts,” Senator McCaskill kindly explains. “It’s just that we don’t value all of them. The world doesn’t need your opinion on everything. For example: what women do with their bodies. Hush.” She then rattles off a whole list of topics men’s opinions are no longer needed on:
• Star Wars
• Pantsuits
• Selfies
• Shonda Rhimes
• Curtains
• Carbs
• Millennials
• Body-hair removal
• Religion
• Gluten
• Harry Potter
• Nut allergies
• Star Wars again
• All art in general
• Whether to brine the Thanksgiving turkey
• Ethics in gaming journalism
• This post
Okay, I may have added that last one.
