It’s a good time to party between Pride and the Tribeca Film Festival. Temperatures are rising, and everyone wants to be outside. Luckily, we’ve pushed past the season of sophisticated soirées and intimate dinner parties, and landed in a scene of debaucherous, claustrophobic, and sweaty nights filled with dancing, drinks, and BFA photographers capturing the Party Pics.
On Saturday, creatives and donors gathered in New Canaan, Connecticut, for Glass House’s annual summer party. Between sips of cognac and several dance performances, guests decked out in their finest summer hats milled around the sprawling, art-filled property, breaking only for lunch, which was served in picnic baskets. And the star of the party, Martha Stewart, dropped by to mingle with KAWS and Derrick Adams.
Best Lace Moment: Coi Leray
Leray has been known to push past fashion’s constraints, but this lace bodysuit is not only highly in tune with the Saint Laurent Berlin men’s runway show she attended, it’s incredibly chic.
Best Beauty Look: Alok Vaid-Menon
Although this vibrant pink trench presents itself as a runner-up to stealing the show, Vaid-Menon’s matching hot-pink eye shadow and lipstick were present and making a statement at AIKYA’s Pride kickoff runway show.
Printed Pair: Benny Blanco and Eric André
In past Party Pics, we have been pretty hard on Eric André, but his fashion sense has truly improved since then. Maybe it has something to do with Benny Blanco’s style influence or the fact that André was dressed for the CHAM launch party.
Best All-Black Look: Martha Stewart
For those who abide by the rule that no outfit should be all black, like Stewart’s friend Anna Wintour, prepare to think otherwise after seeing Martha wear it well.
Hostess With the Mostest: Barbie Ferreira
What’s more L.A. cool than collaborating with the “It” flip-flop company of our time? Hosting a launch party to celebrate it, of course. On June 14, at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel rooftop, Ferreira toasted to the launch of her new Havaianas collaboration.
Best Knit: MJ Rodriguez
As beach season arrives, it just reminds us that knit cover-ups can double as a going-out look, especially if you’re going to the H&M world’s largest drag brunch.
Best Layered Look: Keith Powers
While some of us are taking off more clothes, others are putting more on. But if it calls for a visually compelling Givenchy outfit, then maybe it is worth the sweat.
Best Blonde: Dylan Mulvaney
Breaking news: Mulvaney has gone blonde, and I can’t believe she hasn’t made the switch sooner. While showing off her new look at the Alice + Olivia fifth annual Pride event, she also stunned in a sequined halter dress that was sure to turn heads.
Best DJ: Coi Leray
Leray is outside! This must mean she’s teasing a new project soon, or maybe she’s just launching her DJ career.
Best Ruffles: Julianne Hough
I can’t get away from this dress, but I’m not mad at it, because that just means tulle and ruffles are back. Hough showed off her red ruffled dress at The After after-party, presented by Ketel One Vodka and Zacapa Rum at Pebble Bar.
Best Coquette Look: Enya Umanzor
It’s rare to see Umanzor outside the set of her podcast, Emergency Intercom, but when she steps out, she does it well with frills, ribbons, ruffles, and tabis galore.
Best Florals: Tracee Ellis Ross
Thanks to Jil Sander, Ross can continue her legacy as a fashion icon with this floral-patterned and oddly shaped dress.
Best Drag: Carrie Dragshaw
Pride brings out the best and most creative energy in people, but when it comes to drag, Carrie Dragshaw has been doing this all year round. For Cafeteria’s 25th-anniversary celebration, guests came to the restaurant ready to party like it’s 1998 with dancing, drag, and performances. At least someone is keeping Just Like That’s legacy alive.
Best Corset: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
On June 14, London-based swimwear brand Hunza G and Huntington-Whiteley’s beauty brand, Rose Inc., launched their collaborative collection in style. She specifically in a cute nude corset.
Best Body-Suit: Zazie Beetz
To be a Chanel girl, you have to embrace the tweed. Most frequently, by wearing a black-and-white tweed Chanel jacket. But Beetz counters the crowd with a velvet bodysuit at the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner. One word for the outfit, shoes, and hair: yes.
