Michelle Obama might not have attended Jimmy Carter’s funeral and she won’t be braving the cold for Donald Trump’s inauguration, but she will be having a nice dinner with her husband for her birthday. The former First Lady turned 61 on Friday, and Barack Obama commemorated the occasion with a photo of them celebrating.

However, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this: That table is too big for them to be posing like that. Their arms can barely reach each other. If you’ll allow me to uphold traditional gender roles for a moment, in this scenario I think the man should walk over to his wife’s side of the table. I also have my quibbles about the overhead lighting in this wine cellar (?) where they’re having dinner, but I’ll keep those to myself. Love the flowers, though.
