A who’s who of MAGA celebrities will be in Washington, D.C., next week for Donald Trump’s inauguration. While previous inaugurations have brought major celebrities to our nation’s capital — think Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Jennifer Lopez — the beginning of Trump’s second term will be celebrated by tech billionaires, male podcasters, former reality stars, and Carrie Underwood.
It was announced earlier this week that Underwood would be singing “America the Beautiful” at Trump’s inauguration ceremony. In a statement, the country singer said, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
Also performing at Trump’s swearing-in is Christopher Macchio, a man who calls himself “America’s Tenor” and Trump’s “favorite singer.” I can’t speak to the latter claim, but I know for certain that America’s favorite tenor is Jonathan Groff.
Underwood and Macchio are there to perform, but who’s going just to take it all in? TMZ reports that the guest list includes internet personalities like Jake and Logan Paul, Theo Von, the Nelk Boys, and Bryce Hall. (If you don’t recognize some of those names, just know that they’re Barron’s favorite podcasters.) As for women? TMZ says Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, and Megyn Kelly are all confirmed to attend.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without two weird guys who have made the experience of going on the internet significantly worse. TMZ also reports that Elon Musk will be there, which was basically a given considering Musk’s involvement in Trump’s campaign and transition to office. Newly minted Trump stan and “masculine energy” advocate Mark Zuckerberg will also be celebrating in D.C., where he’s reportedly hosting an inaugural-ball reception. It’s becoming less and less shocking that Michelle Obama chose to sit this whole thing out.
