Last night on the red carpet at the Grammys, two somewhat unexpected guests showed up: Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and his wife, Bianca Censori. The two have been an item for just over two years, and in that time, Censori has been regularly photographed by the paparazzi wearing pantyhose in new and inventive ways. Censori’s red-carpet outfit took the bit to a new level, however: While posing next to Ye, she dropped her fur coat to reveal a completely sheer minidress with nothing underneath.
Who is this woman, what is her deal, and is she okay? Here are some crucial facts you need to know about her.
Ye’s “wife”
Censori first came to the fore in January 2023, when TMZ identified her as the “mystery blonde” Ye had been hanging out with at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills. Shortly thereafter, the gossip outlet reported that Ye had actually married her in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles. At the time, the marriage did not appear to be legal: TMZ reported that the couple never filed for a marriage license. For several months, the tabloids consistently referred to Censori as Ye’s “wife,” in scare quotes.
But it turns out Ye and Censori are legally committed, they just wed with a confidential marriage license. I guess that’s good, as Ye proclaimed on his track “Censori Overload” that the Bible says to wait to have sex until marriage.
Despite this somewhat confusing entrance into matrimony, it seems Ye and Censori met in a fairly traditional way: at work. Before she married the controversial 47-year-old rapper, Censori was an employee at Ye’s embattled Yeezy brand. She is from Melbourne, Australia, originally, but according to her LinkedIn page, she has been working as an architectural designer at Yeezy in Los Angeles since 2020. She is reportedly 30 years old.
What exactly does a Yeezy architect do? That is a mystery unto itself. Ye’s company has seemingly only completed one architectural project in the last five years: a small collection of prefab dome houses inspired by the Star Wars planet Tatooine that were reportedly designed as low-income housing and built on a dry plot of land near Ye’s Calabasas home. Unfortunately, county officials ordered that the homes be demolished in 2019 after Ye failed to secure necessary building permits.
A budding fashionista
While it’s unclear if Censori is still working at Yeezy in any official capacity, over the last two years, she has clearly served as Ye’s fashion muse. As countless tabloid headlines will tell you, she is often seen accompanying him to events in increasingly daring outfits, most of which involve sheer pantyhose. In June 2023, she wore a dresslike object to church services with Ye that included sheer black pantyhose pulled down tightly over her head. Later that month, she was photographed walking into a KFC with Ye wearing only sheer black pantyhose on her lower half and no shoes.
Censori debuted several similar looks on a trip to Italy with Ye over August and September of 2023. She was photographed leaving the couple’s hotel in Florence wearing head-to-toe nude pantyhose and carrying a purple pillow to cover her chest. For another day of sightseeing, she wore nude pantyhose on the bottom and another pair of nude pantyhose cut into the shape of a bralette on the top. Then the couple headed to Germany, where Censori was photographed wearing one long piece of nude pantyhose to pick up kebabs to eat in a park. It is not known where Ye and Censori are getting all these pairs of pantyhose from; perhaps they have a regular wholesale order.
An unwelcome tourist?
At the end of their 2023 vacation, Italian paparazzi caught Ye and Censori in a compromising position while they were riding in a Venetian water taxi with an unnamed friend. Neither Ye nor Censori has said anything publicly about the incident, but a representative for the water-taxi company, Venezia Turismo Motoscafi, told the Daily Mail that the couple is now banned from hiring its boats. For what it’s worth, the spokesperson said the driver didn’t witness “these obscenities” because he was too busy operating the boat.
An individual who has no time for jealous friends
Because Censori doesn’t speak directly to the public — she reportedly deactivated her Instagram account when she married Ye, though post-Grammys appearance, it’s apparently back — we can only guess what she is thinking. The tabloids, naturally, can only guess as well. The Daily Mail, however, interviewed supposed friends of Censori who were worried that she has become isolated from her previous social scene by Ye.
“Bianca is stuck, and her friends are trying to save her, but no one can because of the blockades Kanye has put up [around her],” a source told the tabloid in 2023. But another source said Censori wants nothing to do with these friends, actually.
“She’s shut everyone out and told one of her former friends to ‘fuck off’ when they tried to ask if she was okay,” the source revealed. “She is saying that her friends are just jealous of her stardom.”
An almost divorcée
In October 2024, the outlet with the most direct line to Ye and Censori, TMZ, suddenly reported that the two were divorcing. A source claimed that Ye was retiring to Tokyo and Censori was headed back to Australia to reconnect with her family. But just as quickly as the divorce rumor surfaced, Ye and Censori snuffed it out. They were photographed cuddling with each other at the Dover Street Market Ginza in Tokyo, and TMZ reported that they were back together..
A source told Us Weekly at the time, “Their relationship is definitely rocky,” but “they are working through it.” The source added that Censori was getting sick of traveling all the time and wanted a change in “lifestyle.”
“They have had many disagreements over Kanye having high expectations for her and the marriage,” the source said. “She had a change of heart and voiced that to him recently. It was not well-received by Kanye, but they are working through it. They are okay right now and there are no plans for divorce at this time.”
A welcome guest at the 2025 Grammys
Ye and Censori apparently worked through their differences such that they were able to make a joint appearance on the 2025 Grammys red carpet. After Censori’s sheer-minidress stunt, rumors swirled online that the two had crashed the event. But several sources have come forward to assure the public that the couple was officially invited — Ye’s song “Carnival” was nominated for Best Rap Song.
Ye and Censori chose to leave the event after walking the red carpet, People reports. They later showed up hand-in-hand to an after-party. Censori, perhaps unsurprisingly, was wearing a completely sheer thong bodysuit and boots.
