Can you believe that we’ve known about Bianca Censori for less than two years? Doesn’t it feel as if she has always been around, wearing increasingly risqué outfits that make the general public mildly concerned that she’s participating in some kind of humiliation kink for her husband, Kanye West? Well, as I said, it’s been only two years. Not even. Recently, it seemed as though things might be coming to an end for the couple when it was reported that they had broken up “weeks ago.” That rumor was quickly dispelled when TMZ published photos of them cuddling in Tokyo. A few months later they were back in action, making headlines after she walked the Grammys red carpet wearing next-to-nothing. Now the divorce rumors have returned. How did we get here? Well, let’s start at the beginning.
Censori started working at Yeezy
According to her LinkedIn, Censori began working at West’s company, Yeezy, as an architectural designer in November 2020. Prior to that, she had been in grad school at the University of Melbourne, getting a master’s in architecture. In 2023, a woman going by Kate and claiming to know Censori told an Australian radio show that West had found his future wife on Instagram.
“Ye slid into her DMs, found her on Instagram, and said, ‘Come and work for me,’ and she dropped out. I’m not actually sure if she’s an architect,” Kate said.
While Censori may or may not be a real architect, she was definitely employed by West. She features prominently in a recent New Yorker story about the architectural masterpiece West owned in Malibu and his failed efforts to remodel it. In the story, it seems that Censori’s job was to communicate West’s desires to contractors. Not an easy task!
Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from West
After nearly seven years of marriage, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from West in January 2021. Almost two years later, in November 2022, the divorce was finalized.
Censori became a muse
In December 2022, West shared a track to Instagram called “Censori Overload.” At the time, no one really knew who Censori was, and many of his fans just thought he was spelling sensory in a funky way. In the song, he raps, “And the Bible said I can’t have any more sex till marriage.” That issue would be solved soon enough.
The couple went public
Censori and West were first photographed together in January 2023. TMZ initially identified her as a “mystery woman” West was taking to the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills. A couple days later, the outlet shared photos of the couple from inside the hotel, where they were spotted sharing a meal. It’s probably worth noting that at this point in their relationship, Censori is dressing in a style that you and I might call “normal” — at the Waldorf Astoria, she was wearing what looked like a sweatshirt over a tank top.
They said “I do” (maybe not legally)
Four days after the couple were seen for the first time, TMZ reported that they had gotten hitched in “some sort of wedding ceremony.” At the time, it appeared that the couple hadn’t filed a marriage certificate and instead were married in a vibes-only kind of way. You might remember the months and months of Censori being referred to as West’s “wife” in scare quotes. The Daily Mail eventually confirmed that the couple had, in fact, gotten married legally. They used a confidential marriage license, meaning their union was not public record. The real twist was that, according to the official document, West and Censori were married on December 20, 2022 — weeks before they were seen together for the first time.
Censori started hanging out with North West
Soon after their wedding, Censori was spotted hanging out with West’s eldest child, North. She and West took her to dinner at Nobu in January, and in March they went to Universal Studios together.
‘Things couldn’t be better’
In June, a source told Us Weekly that West and Censori had a great thing going. “Bianca complements Kanye on so many levels and he loves that they can work and collaborate together on projects,” a source told the tabloid. “He appreciates and respects her opinions, even if they don’t always agree. She really keeps him grounded and he’s feeling better than ever.”
Censori’s looks started to get some attention
That summer, Censori started making some odd fashion choices. First, there was this all-black number that my colleague said made her look “like a goth egg.” Then she started wearing tights with nothing on top of them — not even shoes. Both her and West went shoeless for a night out in Italy. Pantyhose became one of Censori’s signature looks that summer with her and West finding new ways for her to wear only nude hose on several occasions. West is notorious for styling the women he dates, so many assumed these increasingly outlandish looks were coming from him.
They got a little too frisky on a boat
When the moon is hitting your eye like a big pizza pie, it’s easy to get swept up in the romance of it all. That’s what appeared to happen to West and Censori in August when they were photographed in what appeared to be a compromising position while on a water taxi in Venice. After the photos were published, a representative for the water-taxi company told TMZ that the couple were “no longer welcome” on its boats. They also noted that the driver of the water taxi was oblivious to “these obscenities” because he was keeping his eyes on the water.
Censori’s friends reportedly stepped in
According to reports, Censori’s friends were concerned about her relationship with West. The Daily Mail reported that two of her longtime friends from Australia held a “successful intervention” with Censori when she returned to her home country for a solo trip in November.
“Everyone is just glad that they finally were able to get through to Bianca,” a source told the tabloid. “Her friends let her know exactly how they feel and they told her that she needs to wake the fuck up.
“She knows that she has shut out those close to her and she is also starting to see through the smoky mirrors of her marriage,” the source continued. “She is aware of Kanye’s controlling ways and she is starting to see things from an outside perspective.”
Shortly after news of her friends’ intervention broke, the U.S. Sun reported that the couple were “taking a break.” “Her family has never been a fan of Ye, and those close to her have questioned whether marrying him was the right decision,” a source claimed, “He is a very difficult person to be around and work for, and Bianca has been one of the most patient people ever to deal with him.”
West and Censori reunited
If the couple did go on a break, it was a short one. A week after the couple were reportedly taking some time apart, they were seen partying together in Dubai. That December, Censori spent more time with West and his children. She carried his daughter Chicago into an album listening party in Miami, she and West took North to Disneyland, and she accompanied the family to a Lakers game on Christmas. She and West were definitely back together.
Kardashian reportedly issued a warning
By February 2024, Censori was well known for her revealing, almost nude outfits. The Daily Mail reported that Kardashian became concerned about how Censori dressed in front of her kids. “Kim instructed Kanye to never let Bianca dress like that around their kids,” a source revealed. “She is truly surprised that Kanye would let his wife leave the house like that.” To her credit, whenever Censori has been photographed with the children, she’s almost always comically covered up. Think enormous trench coats and fur hats that obscure her face.
Kardashian and Censori spent an evening together
Sort of. They definitely stood next to each other while at a listening party for West’s album Vultures 2 in San Francisco. In a video obtained by TMZ, the two women stood next to each other without speaking while watching West perform. This is about as amicable as it gets between these two.
West reportedly punched a guy in the face
While at the Chateau Marmont in April, there was some kind of altercation that reportedly ended with West punching a restaurateur in the face. According to TMZ, West struck either Mark or Jonnie Houston (they’re twins) after one of them had “accidentally bumped into” Censori in the busy hotel lobby. West went to confront them and reportedly threw a punch at the wrong twin. Now, according to West’s team, these details are incorrect.
Milo Yiannopoulos was West’s chief of staff at the time and told “Page Six” that Censori had actually been assaulted. “In reality, the assailant seized Bianca under her panel dress directly on her skin around the waist, forcibly spun her around, and blew kisses in her face, ignoring or perhaps enjoying her distress and discomfort,” Yiannopoulos said.
TMZ later reported that West and the Houston twins had been ignoring the Los Angeles Police Department and that the case remained open but “doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.”
Splitsville?
In October, West and Censori were plagued with breakup rumors. According to TMZ, both parties had been telling their friends that they broke up. Was this the end of the whirlwind romance that put pantyhose at the forefront of conversation for the first time in 40 years? Well, maybe not. Less than 24 hours after TMZ reported that the couple were splitting up, they doubled back. New photos emerged of West and Censori canoodling at the Dover Street Market Ginza in Tokyo.
Shortly after they were photographed together, a source told Us Weekly that the couple was “not divorcing,” but they had been going through a series of “ups and downs.”
“They are working through it. Their relationship is definitely rocky,” the source told the tabloid.
They caused a scene at the Grammys
At the 2025 Grammys, West and Censori made a shocking appearance on the red carpet. He was dressed in his usual all black, while she was wearing a big fur that she took off to reveal a completely sheer minidress with nothing underneath.
Reports quickly circulated that the couple were escorted out of the awards show. However, People later reported that they had left on their own terms after walking the carpet. I guess this is confirmation that these two are fully reunited and back to doing … whatever it is that they’re doing.
Splitsville 2.0?
About a week and a half after their Grammys stunt, tabloids began to report that West and Censori were, once again, headed for divorce. TMZ reported that both parties had reached out to divorce lawyers, while the Daily Mail claimed that the couple had “verbally agreed” to Censori receiving $5 million after their split. Is it for real this time? Did Censori draw the line at her husband selling t-shirts with swastikas on them? I guess we’ll find out soon.
