Due to the wildfires, there’s currently a heightened law-enforcement presence all across Los Angeles. This is to be expected during a natural disaster. What’s less expected is that for the past couple of days, the cops, the FBI, and the National Guard have all been congregating, of all places, outside of Ben Affleck’s house.
On Sunday, FBI agents were photographed outside of the actor’s Brentwood home, peering intently at a bush outside of his gate. In a statement to “Page Six,” a representative for the FBI said, “Members of the FBI’s Ground Intercept task force are conducting activity in the area of the Palisades Fire relative to unauthorized drone activity.” A source later told the tabloid that agents had been at Affleck’s house to “see if he had CCTV footage of a private drone that damaged a super scooper, one of the firefighting aircrafts.”
A few days later, on Tuesday, Affleck was spotted having what “Page Six” called a “very animated” conversation with an LAPD officer who was, again, outside his house. In the photos, Affleck is leaning outside of his window (cigarette in hand) to talk to the cop. He looks a little miffed, but that is kind of what he looks like all the time. A source told “Page Six” that this time around, the cops were there in response to neighbors who had “private security roaming the area that kept residents from going to their homes.”
Things got more intense on Thursday, when there was a Humvee parked outside of Affleck’s house. TMZ got the photos, which show both the ten-foot-tall military vehicle and Affleck driving by unbothered. He must be used to it by now.
