WAGs Watch: Super Bowl Edition

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will attempt to win their third Super Bowl in a row as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans. If you want to know which players to pay attention to, which bets to take, or why President Trump is going to be there, I can’t help you. But I can advise you on the most relevant WAGs to follow on Instagram as you enjoy your snacks.

To me, one of the most exciting elements of professional sports is finding out who the players are married to and what those women are wearing. So join me!

The Chiefs WAGs

Taylor Swift, dating tight end Travis Kelce

Just like last year, Swift is by far the most famous WAG headed to the Super Bowl. Expect cameras to pan to her VIP suite in the Superdome several times throughout the game. (And maybe even during the halftime show? Swift recently exhibited a strong desire to dance to Kendrick Lamar at the Grammys.)

Some fans are eager for Kelce to propose to Swift on the field, but that seems wildly unlikely — the pop star will probably be focused on hanging out with her mom, Kelce’s mom, and whichever lucky celebrity friends she chooses to bring along with her this year. Last year, Swift walked into the game arm-in-arm with Blake Lively, but I doubt that’s going to happen again given Lively’s ongoing legal battle. Maybe Swift will show up solo and simply wave to Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper (cheering on the Eagles, of course) from across the stadium.

Brittany Mahomes, married to quarterback Patrick Mahomes

Despite giving birth to her third baby, Golden Raye, less than a month ago, Brittany Mahomes is planning to attend the Super Bowl with her newborn in tow. (And, I assume, with her two older children, Sterling and Bronze.) Will she sit with Swift? There were rumors of a rift between the two fast friends in September, when Mahomes seemingly endorsed President Trump. But the election’s over now, and Swift and Mahomes have been spotted together several times since their apparent political division became clear. It is awkward, though, that Trump himself is scheduled to attend the Super Bowl, too. Again, I don’t know why that is happening.

Sheawna Weathersby, dating defensive tackle Chris Jones

One of Swift’s closest WAG friends appears to be Weathersby — the two have posed for photos together at multiple games, and Weathersby revealed at Christmas that Swift sent her a gift from Louis Vuitton. (The card was addressed to “She She,” from “Tay Tay.”) Weathersby is building her own public profile, too: She is rumored to be one of the main women cast on a forthcoming Bravo reality show about the Chiefs WAGs. Perhaps she’ll be bringing cameras to the big game?

More Chiefs WAGs to follow: Chariah Gordon, Marissa Rand, Gabby Esposito.

The Eagles WAGs

Anna Congdon, engaged to running back Saquon Barkley

Congdon and Barkley have been together ever since meeting at Penn State in 2017, and they share two children, Jada Clare and Saquon Jr. In the run-up to the Super Bowl, Barkley announced that they recently got engaged, putting an even bigger spotlight on Congdon (she currently has over 130,000 followers on Instagram).

Over the past couple years, WAG weddings have become major media events — I bet we see Congdon and Barkley’s wedding in Vogue sometime soon.

Bry Burrows, engaged to quarterback Jalen Hurts

Burrows and Hurts also got engaged recently — Hurts revealed exclusively to Essence back in September that he popped the question on a beach vacation just before the start of the NFL season. But unlike other WAGs, Burrows does not have public social-media accounts and is not an influencer or aspiring reality star. According to Essence, she is currently an AI partner at IBM.

Burrows and Hurts met at the University of Alabama and went public with their relationship in 2023. Just before the Super Bowl, Hurts referred to her as “the Mrs.” during a press conference.

Kylie Kelce, married to former center Jason Kelce

Jason Kelce retired at the end of last season, so his wife, Kylie Kelce, is not technically a WAG anymore. But she will be one of the most recognizable faces at the Super Bowl on Sunday, where she says she will be rooting for the Eagles even though her brother-in-law Travis Kelce is playing for the Chiefs. (I’m sure Swift understands.)

Kylie is currently pregnant with her fourth baby and enjoying the success of her new podcast (which briefly knocked Joe Rogan off the top spot on the charts in January).

More Eagles WAGs to follow: Kelsey Homer, Niki Ikahihifo-Bender Mailata, Ali Baun.
